Cities Archives

I’m planning to do a road trip starting in Sacramento, California and ending in Ocean City Maryland and I want to know about attractions and such during the trip so I have something to do with my future wife besides running the over 3000 mile road!

I was looking around, out of curiosity, online about apartments in New York City. A one or two bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village costs around ,000/month (rent). I live in Hamilton, ON Canada and to rent a two or three bedroom apartment it costs around ,000/monthly max. I’m not sure wether or not the amount the average job pays more than in Hamilton or not, but I know for sure that most people in Hamilton could not survive a month in NYC with what they get payed. I understand that the attractions in New York are far more interesting and popular than in a smaller city like Hamilton, although I still wonder wether it’s all worth it: to live in a large, more popular city and pay almost triple rent or to live in a smaller city and spent ,000/month and not get *all* the same large attractions that follow New York City’s reputation. I am only 12 and this whole discovery, as you may put it, was all based off a simple comparison to my friends and I to the characters in Friends.
I’ve always loved the idea of New York City and I plan on visiting with my parents sooner or later. So, if someone could please explain to me why rent is double what it is here? How much people make and how they survive with what they make. And where in NYC is cheapest to live (not that I want to move there *now*, but I do want to know how much of a difference there is between Greenwich or anywhere else)?

Thanks!

Do you think you can do the main attractions and get a good feel for the city within 2 days? This would be part of a pre-cruise package. Thank you.

What are the must-see places in Cleveland, Ohio?

I’m from California and I’m planning to spend the night in Cleveland and leave the following day. What are the must see attractions I should visit in the city?
Hey Ohioans…what ever happened to that world-famous Midwestern hospitality?
Maybe I should just cancel my flight and fly to Buffalo instead.

What To Do In New York ?

Myself and my mrs are planning a trip to the US next year, probably NY.
Anyone got any suggestions on must-see attractions in the city.
A day or two outside of the city would be good too.
Thanking you in advance.

I’m coming from Canada. I’d like to visit the southern United States later on in the year during the Fall and Winter. I don’t mind wearing a coat.

How cold do the winters get in the South? Is is still enjoyable to go out and explore the cities? Are most of the tourist attractions shut down?

I plan on backpacking across all the southern states so all answers are most welcome!

Sydney is an expensive city. Most of the interesting attractions, like the Australian Museum and the Sydney Tower, are paid. So I decided to go on a bicycle ride around the city to show the top 10 best FREE tourist attractions in Sydney. In my opinion, they are (NOT in preferred order): 1. The Sydney Parks (Hyde Park, Moore Park, Victoria Park) 2. St Mary’s Cathedral 3. New South Wales Art Gallery 4. Royal Botanic Garden 5. Museum of Contemporary Art 6. The Rocks District 7. Sydney Harbour Bridge 8. Luna Park 9. Australian National Maritime Museum 10. Darling Harbour As a bonus, there are some other minor free attractions as well: – Customs House – Sydney Observatory – Town Hall – Sydney Beaches Check out my videos if you want to see more of these places, especially the “Free Sydney Walking Tour” series. On another “Sydney by Bike”, I cross the Harbour Bridge cycling. And I just want to mention that some of these attraction I show are not 100% free. For example, the entry to the Town Hall and the Art Gallery is free but they may charge a fee for special exhibitions. For the Luna Park and Sydney Observatory, only the entry is free. The Maritime Museum is free but not the ships. So my advice is to check their websites before you go. The Wikitravel is also very helpful. We’ll be traveling in late June and would love to go along the coast and hit the beach(es) at some point. Needs to to be kid (teens actually) friendly. Looking for ideas on cities, hotels/motels, attractions, etc.
