Weddings in Fiji are tropically romantic, enticingly exotic and an experience unlike anywhere else on earth. Warriors parade the groom to the beach where he anxiously awaits his bride under an archway of tropical blooms. As the primitive lali drum beats, the arriving bride is met by warriors who sweep her off her feet, carrying her to the groom.

After exchanging vows in a traditional western ceremony, the couple takes a private ride in the bili bili before joining guests at the kava ceremony. Yaqona, or kava, is a mildly intoxicating beverage made from the crushed roots of pepper plants. Receptions often include a traditional lovo feast. Chicken, pork and fish are wrapped in green leaves, buried in the ground and cooked, similar to a Hawaiian luau. There is no waiting period. Couples apply for a marriage license at the Registrar General’s office in Suva or Lautoka, close to Nadi Airport. Even though you can not see various aircraft he owns usualy they are parked in front of the house which looks like a small airport itself with a control tower.

John passion for aviation dates back to his childhood. John says in one of his CNN interviews that the passion for flying’s been present all his life and it’s “hard to kill”.

The very layout of his new house is testament to Travolta’s love of flying. It’s located immediately off the main airstrip, and is designed so his jets can taxi right up to two outbuildings connected to the main structure, which is shaped like a squat air-control tower. Travolta literally can walk out his door, under a canopied walkway and into the cockpit, open the long mechanized gate and be airborne in a matter of minutes (source).

John Travolta Airplanes and piloting skills: JT is a 707 and 747 pilot, owns B707, Gulfstream II, is Qantas ambassador.

John flies his airplanes to places like Fiji and Australia like he did this April.
