After I graduate from college (with a degree in Biology) I would like to move to a city in the northeast United States. Or at least a northern city.
I’d really like to live in an actual city. I grew up in a rural-ish suburb where the biggest attraction was (and still is) the Dairy Queen.
Could you please tell me of any cities that are large (the bigger the better), safe, and inexpensive (for a single apartment dweller).
I know Chicago isn’t in the east, but that is like the perfect city to me. However, it’s very expensive and has high crime rates. Nevertheless, it is gorgeous and if I could afford an apartment in the center of the city- I would.
The main states for me are New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and basically states in that general area.

I already live in the South… kinda. I live in Kentucky. I do not like hot humid weather at all. I would really like to be in the north.

Whether its a town, city or suburb i want to know how is it there, describe it in its splendour. I live on the west side of puerto rico near the beach its always hot and you can see whales if you come on the right season and the right time.
